The Honor V9 was one of the highly anticipated smartphone from the Chinese brand. It is the successor to the Honor V8 and is expected to be showcased at the MWC 2017. The main highlight of the Honor V9 is its dual rear camera setup. Huawei has been producing some excellent camera phones touting dual rear camera setup of late, and the Honor V9 seems to be an addition to that ever expanding list. Honor has made use of two 12MP camera sensors for their flagship smartphone. This is similar to the implementation seen in the Honor 8 and Honor V8. With that said, the camera sensors have possibly received an specs upgrade. The rear camera module is capable of capturing a 3D model of a subject. Huawei claims that this is the first time a smartphone is coming with such a 3D imaging technology. Besides, the smartphone comes with an 8MP front-facing shooter for clicking selfies. Apart from the cameras, the Honor V9 comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display. This is same as the one found in its predecessor. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a 2.4 GHz Hi-Silicon Kirin 960 octa-core processor and a Mali M71 GPU. This is mated with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM. As for the storage, the Honor V9 comes in two variants – 64GB and 128GB. There’s also room for memory expansion via MicroSD card slot. It’s also worth noting that the Honor V9 comes with a dedicated security chip.
The Honor V9 packs a 4,000 mAh battery and runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with EMUI 5.0 on top. Huawei will be selling their Honor V9 in a total of three variants. It includes a standard variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, a higher variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage and a premium variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. These will in turn retail at a price of 2599 Yuan (Rs 25,293/$378 approx.), 2999 Yuan (Rs 29,186/$435 approx.) and 3499 Yuan (Rs 34,053/$508 approx.) respectively.
